“The Wildflower School is exactly what I was looking for. I enjoy exploring all senses while learning about herbal medicine. Nicole is an informative well spoken instructor who energizes each class by sharing her experiences and resources. She is very encouraging and believes in her work as well as her students. Her gestalt method of teaching brings along the class and keeps everyone engaged and excited about the material. I strongly encourage anyone interested in herbal medicine and herbal traditions to take her courses.”

“Nicole has a casual style of teaching that is well informed, interesting, and a pleasure to hear. She generously shares her passion and knowledge of herbalism and offers many options for furthering your education on the subject. She is conscientious and respectful in regard to harvesting and wild crafting and emphasizes its necessity in the future of herbalism. I wasnt sure about taking the entire series of intensives until the first day of class and decided without reservations that I would be remiss not to take advantage of having such an enthusiastic, knowledgeable and dedicated teacher as Nicole.”

“The Outdoor Herbalist classes taught me not only about our native plants but so much more than what I could have learned on my own. For example, we were given insight into permaculture techniques and visited people who put it into practice on their land. It gave me hope to see the possibilities of living in a respectful way with our environment.”
“The study of medicinal plants is probably a lifetime study. This course provides the essential tools to enter into the magnificent world of healing with herbs. The information provided is empowering!”

“I find Niki’s enthusiasm for her course material to be delightfully contagious. I thought that the herbal preparations would be difficult but she revealed how simple, healthy, and cost effective these treatments can be, especially considering the harsh chemicals that are in commercial products. I arrived at the class hoping for a few ways to enhance my current practice or maybe some ways to play at home and I came away with layers of information that I can explore now and for years to come.”

“The Wildflower School brought in two wonderful, expert herbalists who worked with an audience ranging from experienced practitioners to beginners. They covered a wealth of material, made it accessible and useful and guided us though a practice session. What a joy to have access to such knowledge, skill and generosity.”

“When I began the Foundations of Herbal Medicine Class with Niki, I went into the first class feeling like I had some knowledge of herbalism from the numerous books I had read. It only took one class to realize I knew nothing. By the end of the class I had gained so much knowledge I was excited about taking her next class, Herbal Preparations. Niki’s extensive knowledge, hands-on approach and the relaxed atmosphere, all allowed me the confidence to actually begin applying what I learned. My studies with Niki have opened up new worlds for me in herbalism, and I look forward to future classes with her.”

“I have over 50 hours of herbal training under Niki, and look forward to learning more! I have always been interested in herbs and wholistic medicine, but never dreamed that I would be making it myself! Niki gives her students a strong foundation for success. She teaches everything from plant identification and medicinal uses to business savvy in marketing your own products. One 4-hour basic botany class from Niki gave me as much knowledge as people I know that took a whole semester in botany! Her classes are informative and fun and she has a very progressive teaching style. My studies with Niki have changed my life. She has been an amazing mentor, as well as a very good friend”

“I was a closet homeopathic/herbal mom only giving my preparations to my family. After taking Nicole’s full Herbal Preparations course I now have the knowledge and confidence to make and sell my preparations to to all my family and friends. I highly recommend taking the full course from Nicole.”

“Nicole Telkes and The Wildflower School of Botanical medicine provided me with the foundation that I needed in my study of herbalism. The classes are dynamic and Nicole is a knowledgeable and inspiring instructor. The best thing about the program is that whatever you need from it you can get it; whether you are a long time student of herbalism, or you just want to learn how to make helpful tinctures to treat your families minor ailments and offset the staggering costs of health care.”

“As a massage therapist, I had used arnica on my clients for years. I picked up Aches & Pains Balm and began using it on clients and myself. The knots and aches started relaxing with just Aches & Pains topical and requiring much less work from me. The results were so extreme I did not believe them at first. Once I was convinced, I called Nicole because I had to know what she was doing.
She described the organic growing process for her herbs and that she only harvested true arnica which grows high in the mountains, among other things.
I also use Moon time Menstrual salve habitually. It has eased symptoms for myself or clients of PMS, fibrocystic breasts, endometriosis, & aches caused by menstruation.
Nicole is to my mind an alchemist and her products are the best I have ever tried. I have tiny containers of her products made up for Christmas presents.”

“I went out on a 6 hour classic Austin tube float down the river that involved Margaritas. Unfortunately, this combination compromised my balance somewhat and I ended up falling and scraping my side on some rocks in the river and had to float with this open wound in water for the next 5 hours. After a week of trying to clean the wound myself numerous times, it never healed, continued to fester and started to spread, While Niki does not have any magical concoction that will prevent the foolishness that caused the wound, she did have a salve and an Echinacea and Agarita tincture she had made herself that got rid of the resulting infection within a day or two. There is not even a scar. I feel much better about my chances for survivial because she lives across the street.”
“Niki’s herbal remedy helped break a chronic pain cycle that had been debilitating me for months. My energy went up, my emotional state became more positive and I felt like I could dig myself out of the black hole of pain I had been living in for months. I have used her tonics and balms for various things and have always been pleased with the results. If you want to try a natural approach to your health care concerns this is one that you should add!”

“A client who used Moon salve got an ovarian cyst to go away. And I still use it successfully on myself and others to keep fibrocystic breasts at bay.”
Note, Moon Salve has been used with success treating PCOD, Endometriosis, and Pain after Surgical procedures on the womb

“I am a massage therapist. Last year, a problem with my skin arose that I couldn’t seem to get rid of on my own, and after several attempts at every possible holistic remedy I could get my hands on, I went in desperation to a doctor, who prescribed steroids. After three days with the steroid cream, my skin looked fantastic! And then, my lymphatics swelled up as if they had exploded from the inside. I could barely move my neck, and the beautiful skin I had once experienced was nothing but a dream. I called Nicole Telkes. We had met at Geo-Growers&rsuqo; outdoor market years before and I respected her talents and abilities with herbs. She told me to use Cleavers in a glycerite internally and to mix it with clay and honey and apply it as a poultice to my horrifying neck, and I did, and it worked. The poultice drew the irritation from my lymph glands and my neck soon returned to normal. Cleavers are a weed, known as “Sticky Willy” by some, and seem to have no value to gardeners, as part of the plant sticks to everything it touches—your socks, your dog, your pants, you get the picture. I inherently knew that I should have consulted an herbalist first, but I stubbornly suffered through months of discomfort that was solved literally in a week after speaking to Nicole. This experience was yet another reminder that we need to respect and support our local herbalists, the keepers of the plant medicine, and I am grateful today that the skin malady has not returned.”

She is dedicated to helping you achieve your best you and keeps you informed on all of the body work. The HUGE added bonus is she is a nationally recognized herbalist!
