Our History

The Wildflower School of Botancal Medicine offers community driven herbal and natural health education.  The school was founded in 2003 by practicing herbalist, Nicole Telkes. We provide both a journey into the green world, and a journey into the self.   The school provides on site learning in both in Austin and at our new healing center just outside of Austin.  Our healing center has a fully stocked garden apothecary space, clinic space, gardens, classroom, and 8.5 wild acres of medicinal plants. The Wildflower School is one of the most established, and in depth holistic herbal training programs in Texas and the Deep South, as well as being the first and only onsite, year long clinical herbalist training program in the region. We have always and continue to have a commitment to social justice, environmental justice, and community activism.

The Founder and Director, Nicole created all of the curriculum, directs, and teaches many parts of the programs.  Part of maintaining the high quality of the programs involves training many of the teachers and making sure everyone

is working together to maintain consistency and flow.  From the beginning, she has sought to maintain a balance between the science, intuition, modern approaches, traditional approaches, and spiritual connections to the plants.
